Stoopid and Rebelution are the front runners. That third band could be one of many. Too many to name.
I miss Shortbus more than anything. RAS if you read these boards, get the bus going again!
Amen to that the Bus is very much missed

I'm done trying to fit a band into a specific genre, unless it is just fucking obvious. My top three favorite groups that could be associated with this community are Chapter 11, Mike Pinto, and 3rd Alley.

Lately the top 3 have been:
1. Passafire
2. Echo Movement
3. The Aggrolites
but it changes on a weekly basis. There are so many good bands out there!

If I HAD to pick the top 3 reggae/rock bands, it'd def. be a toughie. There are so many amazing bands with mellow vibes, it's hard to choose. My number one favorite band, out of any genre, since 2006 has been Slightly Stoopid. I was in high school, and it's funky style and jazz mixed with rock and soul called out to me. I have always found that whether I am on the top of my world or in the valleys, Slightly Stoopid has carried me through those times.I have always been on the next page when everyone else was sticking to the script, and music was another example of that. Never following the "norm" of what people my age were listening to, I was a huge fan of Sublime, along with old school rock, rock, country, anything that could move me, or I could relate to (REAL music). I've always been a believer in trying out new music, and once I found Slightly at 16, I took a dive head first into reggae/rock. Growing up, my older brother was a huge fan of Sublime, and turned me onto them. They are the OGs of Rock/Reggae so of course they have to be on the list. I'm also a huge fan of Rebelution. Along with Slightly Stoopid, they have a way of communicating motivational words of comfort or perseverance, that I love. I know the list could go on, and on, but the top three for me would def. be numbered Number One:Slightly Stoopid <3,Number Two: Rebelution, and Number Three: Sublime. :]

I dig the story with your Top 3! I have to ask, is this Kelley or Chris cause your handle is KelleyNChris. lol. So can we get BOTH of your opinions on this? BTW, is today really your b/day? If so, HAPPY BIRFDAY!! lol
And its interesting Sublime took a backseat to Stoopid & Rebelution at #3.
"I have always been on the next page when everyone else was sticking to the script, and music was another example of that."
-That sums me up as well and it definitely translated into music.
My Top 3 at the time are:
Dirty Heads
The Movement
Rebelution.
I dont believe mines really changed and i LOVE collaborations and remixes which looks to be every bit of the recipe for a great album that Rebelution has coming up with Peace of Mind. But Dirty Heads & The Movement have new albums due out as well. So nothing like your 3 favorite groups with new albums in the works. Cant get enough music these days!

It's actually just Kelley on this topic, when I first made my username, I was unawar I could change it, so it's just me
& Sublime has taken a backseat becuase although they rock, they are not my all time favorite, which is Slightly Stoopid. I suppose Rebelution and Sublime could duke itout for the second spot.
& no, I'm not sure why it says today is my birthday, probably because I updated that part of my profile.
I do dig The Dirty heads as well, but I was living in the only pick three world, so they didnt quie make the cut against the other two If I was to just name my top favorite, the list would go on and on, a few that would be next would def. be The Dirty Heads, Pepper, and so on. Remixes are pretty sweet, I'm not that big of a fan, but I have heard quite a few that I dig.

I like this top group, 3LF has definitely jumped to top of my lists lately. Iration is always good, as is Passafire. Dirty Heads are a mood band for me though, I have to be feeling like listening to them.
"I really want to try and sway the population to a better way"- Passafire

Reyna311- I dig your style, big time! I have to say, my musical taste buds have changed through the years with my cd player in my truck and iPod...shoot when I started getting into the whole reggae/rock stylee, I was bumping a walkman and a longboard! Things change, and so has my musical palette.
My first cd purchase ever was the Red Hot Chili Peppers-One Hot Minute. I was a punk rock kid. Then I heard Don't Push by Sublime... Incredible!
Late 90s was Sublime, 311, and reaching back to some Police. Then, I was absolutely in love with Right Back by LBDA. I felt like anytime I played Trailer RAS it was a near reincarnation of the good 'ol Sublime. Opie, Tippa Irie and Half Pint crushed it on the album, as well.
I found out about Sublime Archive soon after that, and my doors were open to a whole new world!
Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, The Expendables, LA locals The Expanders!!, Bargain Music, Mishka, Part One Tribe, Break From Society, the list goes on and on!
Listening to mainstream radio didn't compare at all. To this day, I still have Slightly Stoopid and Pepper in my top 3. Both are interchangeable at any moment. Even the Dirty Heads. Bet Your Bits and Antelope really got me moving on the bongos. So many different styles each band filled the gap of what I wanted to hear in their own way.
Iration was the band I would take my girl to for live entertainment, then I was fortunate enough to see Passafire open for them w/ Pepper. Their self-titled album and Submersible were on constant rotation.
I'll admit, I was late to the Rebelution party, but a few years ago they pressed that top spot. Similar to SS, but in a completely uplifting spiritual light.
Then, one of my buddies gave me the heads up to check out a band called Fortunate Youth. So sick! I thought they were the main act for the show. I was ready to bounce, until Tribal Seeds hit the stage. I have always been into the beats and bass lines behind the reggae sound, and at the time Whiteboy, now Shammz, and C-Los for TS were so tight. Been hooked ever since.
Sublime has never left the top spot, almost looking down on the rest, giving proper guidance for the progressive movement of the reggae/rock sound. Now that I got to see Sublime w/ Rome I feel like my musical realm has come full circle, and it will only continue on!
Keep the good vibes going! CHEEE!
