Spun is a bite....listen to BALLYHOO! They stole sounds.
dj_carroll wrote:I'll admit that a couple of the songs off Yours Truly sound good to me (ex. Spun, Dynamite) but on the whole, I think it should have never come out. Sublime was, they no longer are. It's fine to keep Sublime-with-Brad's legacy alive (good music never dies) but for Rome and co. to try to start a new chapter in the best-seller that is Sublime, that's a huge mistake.
Feel free to keep playing shows and whatnot to honor the true Sublime (and Brad), but I wouldn't be saddened to see Sublime with Rome disband or at least change their name/lineup. And Rome has got a great voice, I agree with everyone here that he'd thrive solo.

Man, that KROQ Acoustic Xmas video where they announce it just seems awkward as hell. Bud looked really uncomfortable.
I can't believe Rome and Eric would continue on playing the Sublime catalog without him.
No one says you have to stop working, but damn, start a new project.
Come on guys.
If your material and musicianship is truly great and it comes from the heart, you shouldn't need the old Sublime as a safety net.
I'll quote Kenny Rogers and the Fugees
"You got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run..
You got to count your dub-plates
before you touch the turntables
Cause if you run out of big tunes
that means your sound is done"

...and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make

. . . this started in april/may of this year. they wanted bud out but he has been kicking and screaming the entire time.
the baby excuse is exactly that! rome and eric have those awkward attitudes. you can tell how eric just wants him out. rome is just a little bitch acting like a dick.
whuteva. they can all go suck it!
all of them need to start new. sublime with rome is no longer because bud isnt in the band. they will probably call themselves Budless. no more to ssay

Lmfao @ Johnny for the fugee Rogers ...haha...Romes voice is dope .. Dude is young and has a gang of talent.....the swr thing wasn't for me....seemed kind of wack to bring some random fan/singer on board to cover some legendary cuts.....I mean if they had opine or ras or jack or Miguel I would've really tuned in more....plus I love del mar.....I was sad to see that on the back burner....LBDA reuniting would b amazing but who knows what will happen......I'm glad there is still a big community like the pier that still cares so much for the music tho....Sublime changed my life from a young age and the music is timeless......I used to get bitter about bands that would come out and try to sound just like them instead of being creative enough to make their own sound but nowadays I just listen to all the people Brad and co have influenced and smile......I'm glad all these bands have spawned from them.....bring back LBDA

Pretty bummed it had to happen like that. I met Bud this summer in Philly after their show and he was in a pretty shitty mood. I hope for the best, but it definitely is more than the baby. I am just happy I got to see Bud and Eric play together twice. 2/3 of Sublime is better than seeing someone like Badfish. I am a fan of Rome but I don't think they should use the Sublime with Rome name, start a new project. I am just hoping I will have the opportunity to see Bud and Eric back together again. A LBDAS reunion would be sick. RIP Bradley.
