  • The Expendables –“Wells” (Acoustic. Featuring C-Money)

The Pier was able to catch up with The Expendables backstage at one of their last shows of 2011 on Friday November 11th. In an interview w/The Expendables, they discussed building their own private studio in their hometown of Santa Cruz, CA. They marveled at the idea of finally being able to take their time in creating timeless music at their own pace with their own studio in their own backyard.

The group talked at length about putting together an acoustic album. Right now the idea of the release is still in it’s early stages as the group has no confirmed number of songs, but said it will most likely be acoustic aversions of their more popular songs. But who knows, once the production takes flight, it can go in any number of directions. The group plans on sending the files to Paul Leary (Sublime, Passafire) for the final mix down. Not a bad guy to send your music to for final polishing. So in celebration of this news, The Expendables agreed to give us the acoustic version of “Wells” that was first released as an iTunes exclusive for the album Prove It

To wrap up the year, The Expendables were just added to the New Years Eve show with Slightly Stoopid that will take place on Dec 31st at the HardRock Live in Orlando, FL.

    The Expendables Bio/Background:
The Expendables enjoyed a laid-back lifestyle growing up in Santa Cruz, CA; surfing, skating, partying, and playing music were commonplace. Since 1997, The Expendables have staked their claim in the California surf/rock genre by headlining venues from coast to coast. Blending Reggae, Punk Rock, and 80s style dueling guitar solos, The Expendables have made heads turn and floors shake for years.

Thirteen years later, five albums down and countless miles covered The Expendables show no signs of slowing down.

Their latest album, Prove It, was released May 11th 2010 debuting at #158 on the Billboard Top 200, #30 on Billboard’s Independent charts, and #4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers! The album also pushed to #15 on iTunes Top 200 and #5 on iTunes Alternative Charts, jumping The Expendables to a new level in their career. The band’s new release would include guest performances by C-Money, OG, and Dela of Slightly Stoopid throughout the album. Jumping into the mix as well would be long time friend G. Love on the ballad “Wells”.
