Seedless – “Friends” (Ft. Andy Chaves of Katastro)

“Friends” Background:
“Friends” was recorded at 17th Street Recording Studios in Costa Mesa, California under the watchful eye of Reggae-Rock’s infamous producer, Lewis Richards. As mentioned before, the song also features a guest appearance by Andy Chaves of Katastro.

When The Pier asked Casey Sullivan a little background about the track, Seedless’ lead singer/guitarist stated, “I wrote the song a few months ago, then brought it to the band to work out all the kinks and finalize the lyrics. ‘Friends’ is just a feel good song about a situation everyone can relate to. We all ended up diggin it and recorded it with our boy Lew at 17th and he made it into magic.”

Seedless Background
Seedless’ sound is a blend of progressive rock with the traditional reggae rhythm and deep message, their music has built up somewhat of a cult following in Southern California, while still captivating a new generation of reggae fans. Based in Orange County, CA, Seedless seamlessly interchanges between genres both in the studio and at their live show, which takes you for a ride that will leave fans begging for more.

2013 marks a big year for Seedless. Scheduled for an April release, Seedless will be releasing the much anticipated follow up to their debut album Twisted Roots, which was nominated as one of iTunes Best Reggae Albums of 2010. With no shortage of material or inspiration, they will once again make 17th Street Recording Studios, in Costa Mesa, CA their home to record with favorite engineer/producer Lewis Richards. Plans to tour in support of the album are in discussion.

Matt Liufao of Seedless told The Pier: “This is going to be our 2nd full length album and it has been over two years in the making. We have progressed so much over the past couple of years as people and artists. The vibe has changed a little with a more rock kind of edge to it, but it always Seedlless’ style to mix up all different styles of music into it.”

The album is tentatively titled, Orange Album, and will feature guest appearances from fellow Orange County musician, Micah Brown and “a secret list of ideas”. The forthcoming album is currently slated to contain 15-tracks, mixing reggae, rock, dub and indie rock. As of right now, the tentative release date will be April 16th, 2013.
