Cali-Roots 2014: Final Artist Announcement

Recently, the California Roots Music & Arts Festival made two huge line-ups announcements. To kick off 2014 and the countdown till the end of May, festival organizers have announced the third & final round of bands set to play the 3 day festival taking place in Monterey, CA from May 23-25th.   • Today, with this final announcement, California Roots has solidified an already strong lineup with the addition of an impressive list of bands set play the festival, continuing to build the momentum of the 5th annual event.

    Previously, festival co-founder Dan Sheehan was quoted, “Today, fans are asking more than just quality music, they’re looking for an overall experience and we provide that….” This year it seems as if the California Roots festival organizers have really out done themselves, in their effort to provide so many loyal fans tat unique Cali-Roots experience.

    The third and final artist announcement is big. Not only will Rebelution be returning to Headline the Monterey County Fair Grounds, but The Green will also make another appearance as well as the addition of J Boog, Aer and several other amazing acts.

    The most unexpected news from the line-up announcement has to be that this year California Roots will host Skunk Records – 25th Anniversary Live On Stage. Though festival promoters have not delivered details, when questions about who will be performing in what is sure to be an all-star jam session, Sheehan simply said, “It will be huge.”

    Following the line-up announcement, via the Perro Bravo facebook page and Skunk.com, Miguel Happoldt released a handwritten statement explaining, “…that Perro Bravo and Friends have been asked to play the California Roots fest, Moterey 2014! It will be billed as “Skunk records 25th Anniversary” because for the event Perro Bravo will be joined on stage by Miles and Kyle (Slightly Stoopid), Marshall Goodman, Opie Ortiz and more musicians to be announced…. We are going to attemot to create a timeline of Skunk music 1989-2014 LIVE.” Be sure to check back real soon for an update about this highly anticipated once in a lifetime super set.

    Also, as part of the final artist announcement, the festival has revealed the winners of their recent Fan Choice Contest. Allowing fans to select who they would like to see play the festival, through the online election a wide array of undergrond bands were narrowed down through two rounds of voting. After approximately 7 thousands votes, Bumpin Uglies, Papafish, and White Glove Service have been added to the California Roots line-up.

    Tickets are on sale now, weekend passes and single day tickets are available, and children 10 & under get in FREE with a paid adult ticket.
