Singer of Top Shelf to release book!

Top Shelf is a Reggae-Rock group out of Ukiah, CA & while in the studio recording their sophomore album due out in spring 2011, singer Carter Lane makes his literary debut on Dec. 10th 2010 with the release of One Day, a collection of poetry and short stories that range from the sorrowful, to the joyful, to the deliciously silly. The book is a triumph that explores the different aspects of a young man’s life while chronicling Lane’s literal emotions along with the sometimes hilarious figments of his imagination. Joel Young masterfully compliments the writings with his black and white illustrations. One Day is a creative expression of light conquering darkness, love conquering fear, and the vivid escape we find only in our dreams.

Reviews:
-One Day is a great display of Carter’s personal experience and thought process. It is a reminder of the constant sway of emotions we all have in life.
-Eric Rachmany (Singer/Songwriter, Rebelution)

-In his book of poetry and short stories, One Day, Carter Lane uses a voice that is both subtle and strong. It is no coincidence that he is a songwriter and singer. He has a gift for making words sing and there’s music on every page.
-Tony Anthony (Author, Beneath Buddha’s Eyes)

-The poems and short stories in One Day sing to me like a loved, yet long forgotten song. The experiences and affections explored set a mood that’s both familiar and insightful. A great new voice in music and poetry. For Carter Lane I’m grateful.”

-Shiloh Fernandez (Actor, Red Riding Hood)
