On June 4th, Mystic Roots Band released their 3rd studio album Camp Fire Vol.1. Set to be released as a double album with the Re-mix version dropping Sept 3rd, the group has allowed The Pier to give away one of their songs that’s a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song”.

“Earth Song” Background:
“Earth Song” is the 7th song off the 16th track Camp Fire Vol. 1 release. The album features guest appearances such as Tippa Irie, Mykal Rose, Marko, The Cali Kidd,C Money and Shane T. The album was released via Stay Positive Productions
When we asked Mystic Roots front-man Coot Wyman about the song, he gave us a healthy response, sharing,…”Earth Song is Mystic Roots rendition of a classic Michael Jackson tune. We wish to celebrate the memory of Michael for the great music and message he left us with. He was an incredible humanitarian and cared a great deal about the planet Earth. We always felt this song deep in our hearts and thought it would be perfect to flip it into a reggae style. Katherine pours her heart into every lyric and cootdog came up with an original rap to tie it all back to Mystic Roots sound. Interestingly enough the song was recorded all around the world! Most of the music was recorded in Oceanside, CA before the band moved back to Chico, CA where all the vocals were recorded. Later, while on tour in South Korea, Korey recorded his guitar solo on a military base while Mystic Roots was on tour entertaining the troops abroad and spreading this message of love and peace. One of our favorites, we present to you: Mystic Roots version of “Earth Song”.
The album is set to be released as a double album with Camp Fire Vol. 2 to be re-released entirely as a remix album on September 3rd, along with a box set.

Mystic Roots Background:
This Chico-born & based 6-piece group cut their teeth touring as Pato Banton’s backing band, but split off back in 2009 to pursue a new original project. Balancing dancehall, reggae, and hip hop music, as well as a male-female vocal dynamic, the band boasts a constant touring schedule, wild stage show, and a fan base spanning from SoCal to Singapore. Following the 1999 debut release of Constant Struggle, that was later re-released in 2005 featuring a duet with reggae legend Barrington Levy, the group released CALI-HI in 2010 & featured a slew of guest appearances that included Pato Banton as well as The Green’s guitarist/vocalist Zion Thompson
The band tours the U.S. full-time, playing shows with some of the biggest names in reggae, hip hop, and rock. As a result, MRB has developed an ever-growing legion of loyal fans. This fan base exists not only in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, but also in Europe, Latin America, Australia, and even several regions of Asia.
