SOJA’s New Album THIS January!

There’s a lot of noise happening out of Arlington, VA thanks to SOJA. Last week they announced that they will be releasing their 3rd studio album titled Strength to Survive on January 31st, 2012 on ATO Records.

After 2 albums, multiple EPs, a Hawaii DVD & being a staple of this reggae-rock community for more than 10 years, it appears that SOJA is wasting no time as they want to kick off the new year with an album that will include 13 brand new tracks which was produced by John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer, O.A.R.). We’ll soon have cover-art, confirmed track listing & other details in regards to the new release shortly!

2011 proved to be a BUSY year for SOJA’s Lead singer Jacob Hemphill who has been collaborating left & right with writing, production, vocals & engineering on various artists projects in the Reggae-Rock community. Here’s a list of work that Jacob Hemphill has been doing this year in 2011:

After discovering Chris Boomer in 2009 in Guam and having been featured on the track “You & Me”, Hemphill went on to later co-write & produce Chris Boomers debut album I Am Who I Am in 2011 (and this album is available inside The Pier Store).

Jacob Hemphill also left his mark on Hawaii’s The Green’s new album Ways & Means, being featured on the song “Come In”. He also worked with up & coming Hawaiian singer/songwriter Anuhea producing her new song “Easier” and co-produced the song “It’s Not The Same”. Both songs expected to be on Anuhea’s upcoming album For Love.

Rebelution has a new album coming out on January 10th, 2012 and you’ll find Hemphill in the cut, mixing it up on the song “Meant To Be”. Rebelution also released a Remixes EP early 2011 and Hemphill produced & is featured on the “Suffering” remix.

Jacob also co-wrote and produced 2 songs for the Fear Nuttin Band with their album “Move Positive” as he was featured on their first single “Rebel” and “Standing By The Wall”, both of which featured additional guest appearances by other members of Soja in those recordings.

Lastly, you’ll find Hemphill on the new J Boog album with the song “Watch & Learn” and more notably on 311’s authorized remix of their new single “Sunset In July”.

It’s been a busy 2011 for Jacob Hemphill & SOJA and we havent even mentioned their 2011 tour schedule. It looks as though they’ll ride that momentum into 2012 with a brand new 13 track album with a tour to boot. If your a SOJA fan, make it a point to pick up all of the collaborations above and support all music in it’s art & contribution.
