The Santa Cruz based band, Thrive, has announced that on October 17th, the band will be hitting the road on their “Totally Basted Fall Tour.” Additionally, the band announced that they have been working on a new single featuring upcoming female reggae artist, HIRIE.
The Totally Basted Fall Tour will consist of 10 dates with shows up and down the California coast and one stop in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Throughout the tour, Thrive will be playing alongside a few different bands on select dates. These bands include Indubious, Stick Figure, DPS, Reeform, and New Kingston. However, the last 2 shows will feature Thrive alongside some of today’s most recognized names affiliated with reggae music, Shaggy and Barrington Levy.
For the first time ever, Thrive has been recording at Imperial Sound Recording Studio. Owned by, E.N Young, the band is excited to be working on new material with the guidance of his expertise.
Thrive explains, “We’re stoked to work with E.N Young as we have been long time friends. The experience in his studio is so comfortable and the vibes are really positive. These songs are coming to life before us.”
Another first for the band, the newest release will feature a female guest vocalist HIRIE. Thrive’s frontman, Aaron Borowitz, gave a little insight into his experience so far. He says, “The song we worked on with E.N Young and HIRIE is a duet between her and myself. She did some amazing work in the studio, I was blessed to witness her voice come to life in the vocal booth.”
Currently, there is no release date for the single. However, the band assures that they will announce the track title and release date in the upcoming weeks via their Facebook. When asked if there is a new album in the works, Thrive responded with, “Originally this started off as just us recording some new songs, but we’re starting to feel that creative fire start to flame up, so it’s hard to say, but a new album is a definite possibility.”
Aaron left us with one last note. “The next song we’re doing is one our drummer/lead vocalist Kenny (KSHY) wrote which has a completely different feel. So we’re always working on getting better as a band and pushing ourselves to write better tunes.”
With that said, be sure to check back with The Pier for updates on Thrive!
