Jamaican-born Boston-bred reggae artist Kevin Holness, better known as Mighty Mystic, is gearing up to release a new album titled The Art Of Balance. The album, which will be Mystic’s third, is scheduled to launch worldwide on March 11th, 2016 through E.N Young’s San Diego based label Roots Musician Records.
The Art Of Balance hopes to build off the success of Mystic’s previous two albums Wake Up The World and Concrete World, which included hits like “Cali Green”, “Concrete World”, and “Riding On The Clouds”.
The album will contain 15 brand new tracks that highlight Mighty Mystic’s quintessential high energy “Hard Roots” style, as well as his slow and mellow acoustic side. The majority of the tracks were produced by Mighty Mystic himself, but his brother, Stephen Thunder, also has a hand in the production of a few songs.
Mighty Mystic, who moved to Boston from Jamaica at age 9, draws musical influence and inspiration from the reggae legends of his homeland. Less than a decade after first making waves in the reggae scene, Mighty Mystic has already shared the stage with reggae icons like Toots and The Maytals, Steel Pulse, and Damian Marley.
Roots Musician Records is home to a collection of budding forces in reggae, including Gonzo, Leilani Wolfgramm, Tatanka, and the multi-talented E.N Young, but they gain the label’s first Jamaican artist by signing Mighty Mystic to the roster. Mighty Mystic will provide some East Coast flare to a lineup stocked with West Coast talent.
Starting February 12th, 2016, fans eager to get a first glimpse of The Art Of Balance will receive an instant download to Mighty Mystic’s new track “Something About Mary” after pre-ordering the album from Roots Musician Records.
Beginning early February, Mighty Mystic will be hitting a handful of Northeast cities, and is in the works to make a California run after the March 11th release date.
