Channel One Soundsystem has maintained their place as one of the Premier League U.K. Roots sounds and a Notting Hill Carnival resident sound for over 45 years.
Revered Channel One selector and operator Mikey Dread was granted access to the Greensleeves archives to hand pick his top shots from the vaults. This is the first Soundsystem based project Greensleeves has released since Jah Shaka’s ’The Positive Message’ in 2009.
This double gatefold vinyl release features vocals and dubs that have featured heavily on Channel One’s hand-built Soundsystem which has been active at Notting Hill Carnival for over 45 years and features tracks from Reggae Regular, Michael Prophet, Linval Thompson, Wailing Souls, Keith Hudson and many more.
The dubs are equally as exciting with Sly & Robbie, Roots Radics, Rockers All-Stars, Hi-Times Band and more; deep and heavy versions aimed right at the Soundsystem faithful.
