Dry Reef Unveils Bright New Single “Easy I”

Edited with Afterlight

Philly-based indie band Dry Reef is back with their third single, “Easy I,” a vibrant track that weaves together bright melodies and uplifting reggae rhythms. Released under Regime Music Group, this new single marks another step in the band’s evolution, blending indie rock with beachy, feel-good sounds.

If you’re wondering who Dry Reef is and what they sounds like, imagine a fresh blend of familiar summer sounds with bubbling harmonies, playful melodies & authentic lyrics. Anchored somewhere between Dr. Dog, Vampire Weekend, & Kings of Leon, their airy alternative sound feels like something new. It’s refreshing like a couple of easy breaths. It’s eager like the first warm morning after a long winter. It’s an invitation to have the best day of your life.

Recorded at Spice House Sounds in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, “Easy I” reflects the band’s unique approach to songwriting. The song, written during a period of transition and uncertainty, channels those emotions into an upbeat anthem. Lead vocalist and bassist Pat Gillen shares,

“It came to me during a period of great transition with a lot of unknowns. During times like that, I feel like I end up writing the happiest-sounding songs. Like I’m processing sad and anxious feelings through the lens of a bright, beachy song to make it all feel easier.”

Dry Reef’s latest effort emerges after two years of focused writing and recording sessions, including time spent in solitude at a cabin in West Virginia. “Easy I” follows two previous single releases and a string of notable performances, including festival appearances at Peach Festival in Scranton, PA, and Reggae Rise Up in Florida, as well as tours supporting Little Stranger and playing alongside bands like The Wailers, Mihali, and MAGIC!
