The inaugural November Nights festival at Chase Field was a dream come true for Valley music lovers.
This one-of-a-kind event brought together an incredible lineup, headlined by Sublime, alongside alternative rock giants Weezer, Third Eye Blind, Rebelution, The Head and the Heart, Violent Femmes, and DJ Z-Trip & Friends. Sublime’s performance transported fans straight back to the ’90s, with the crowd swaying to timeless classics like “Santeria” and “What I Got.” The energy was palpable as the band, fronted by Jakob Nowell, honored their Long Beach roots while delivering an unforgettable show at the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Behind the Scenes with D-Lord and Sublime
Renowned graffiti artist D-Lord got exclusive backstage access, capturing the essence of the festival behind the scenes. From hanging out with Jakob Nowell and the band to stepping into the Arizona Diamondbacks’ practice facility, D-Lord documented the playful chaos as the crew took turns throwing fastballs in their own mock version of The Sandlot.
D-Lord shares a deep connection with the band, as he is the brother-in-law of Sublime’s touring DJ, DJ PRODUCT ©1969. A Long Beach legend in his own right, DJ PRODUCT ©1969 is a founding member of G-Punk pioneers (Hed) P.E., a celebrated DJ, and an artist who has contributed artwork for Sublime over the years. Recently, he created cover artwork for the Sublime graphic novel $5 At The Door, a heartfelt tribute to the band brought to life in comic book form.
D-Lord: The Graffiti Icon Behind Viral Art
A world-renowned graffiti artist, D-Lord gained fame as the art director of Graffiti Mansion, a luxury Las Vegas estate transformed into elaborate art displays, including a Fortnite mansion and a Supreme mansion.
Last year, D-Lord went viral on social media after painting a mural of pop superstar Taylor Swift wearing a Ravens’ Lamar Jackson jersey ahead of the AFC finals. The time-lapsed mural racked up millions of impressions, stirring up controversy among Chiefs fans who were less than pleased with the artwork.
A Legendary Night at Chase Field
With November Nights festival marking its debut, Sublime’s electrifying set, playful backstage antics, and deep-rooted connections made for an unforgettable experience. Whether rocking the stage or throwing pitches in the Diamondbacks’ practice facility, Sublime once again proved why their legacy continues to thrive decades later.
