San Diego’s reggae rock scene just got a fresh dose of nostalgia and energy with the official music video for “Yesterday,” the debut single from The Last Call.
This new collective of seasoned SoCal musicians—hailing from Diego Roots, Split Finger, and Mix Mob—has been rekindling their passion for music, and now they’re bringing that energy to the screen.
Shot and directed by Jeff Pliskin of Raised Fist Propaganda, the video is a time capsule of good vibes, deep roots, and a community that’s been thriving for decades. Jeffro, a two-time Pier Awards Music Video of the Year winner for his work with Slightly Stoopid’s “Don’t Stop” and “No Cocaine,” brings his signature raw storytelling to this project.
“It was an honor to work with these SoCal homies and vibing out at their local hangouts on Mission Beach & OB. Video shoot was hella fun with friends and family,” Jeffro shared.
The video for “Yesterday” takes viewers straight into the heart of Mission Beach, capturing the band’s home turf in all its sun-soaked, surf-town glory. From laid-back boardwalk hangs to jamming on stage, every frame is a tribute to the tight-knit San Diego music scene. “Shooting with Jeffro in Mission Beach was a blast. From the boardwalk to the Bayside with our friends and families, to the studio…. Amazing memories! Felt like a time warp to 20 years ago! Stoked!” said bassist Sean Bowman.
“Yesterday” is just the beginning. With their debut EP One More Round produced by Hayden Hanson of Tunnel Vision at Tube Town Recording Studio dropping this summer on PIER RAT RECORDS, The Last Call is making waves in a big SoCal way.
