Tuesday New Releases!

It’s the last Tuesday of October and fans can FINALLY pick up the highly anticipated album courtesy of Hawaii’s The Green. Also releasing an album today is Whiskey Avengers who recently featured a song for our Mp3 Leak of the Week.

There’s no question fans have been drooling for a new album from The Green after their head-turning debut self-titled release last year. Also releasing new material this week is Damian Marley with his new single “Set Up Shop” and you can pick that single up on JR Gong’s Soundcloud page by clicking HERE

The Green – Ways & Means
Release Date: October 25th, 2011
The Green’s 2010 self-titled debut was a break-out of gargantuan proportions in the reggae community. The album moved over 20,000 copies and earned props from both iTunes and Billboard as one of the strongest reggae releases of 2010. Now The Green has released a follow up that album with their 2nd full length album titled Ways & Means via Easy Star Records. The group is joined by touring bassist/producer Brad Watanabe and touring drummer/producer Leslie Ludiazo. The album features production from Danny Kalb (Ben Harper), Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Jim Fox (Rebelution, SOJA) and Matthew Honda. The album includes 14 brand new songs with a special guest appearance by Jacob Hemphill of SOJA on the song “Come In”.

Whiskey Avengers – Dead Man Rockin’
Release Date: October 25th, 2011
Presiding in the dormant pits of the San Francisco Bay Area, renegade Reggae and Rocksteady outfit the Whiskey Avengers have released their third full length album ‘Dead Man Rockin.’ Staying true to their origins of traditional Jamaican style Ska and Rocksteady mixed with West-Coast Reggae, they have seamlessly infused a new blend of Rock, Soul and Folk Americana that lends itself to multiple generations of castaways and bad apples. They have teamed up with legendary studio engineer Michael Rosen to spit shine their sound creating a seemingly unstoppable independent musical force. The album was recorded at Roofrock Japantown Studio in the bay area of northern CA.
