Earlier last month No Doubt, the ska/punk/reggae/rock band that ruled the 90’s, finally resurfaced announcing the release date for their next album. Now this month, the group has announced the album title & release date of their first single!
Push and Shove will be the title of No Doubt’s next release & their first full-length album since Gwen Stefani embarked on her solo journey in 2004. “Spiderwebs”, “It’s My Life”, and “Don’t Speak” are just a few tracks responsible for their rise to fame since their formation in 1986.
As mentioned in our 2012 Most Anticipated Albums, Push and Shove is said to have drawn inspiration particularly from the ska and reggae genres and although it was originally set to drop in 2011, the date was pushed back to ensure the complete satisfaction of the fans.
As of now, 10 track titles have been released to the public, which include “Dreaming The Same Dream”, “One More Summer”, “Gravity”, “Settle Down”, “Easy”, “Heaven”, “Undercover”, “Push & Shove”, “Looking Hot”, and finally “Sparkle”. Major Lazer is also rumored to be making an appearance somewhere within the new album.
Throughout No Doubt’s career they have won countless awards, from Grammy’s to MTV Music awards and Billboard’s Music Video of the Year, to name a few. They hope to continue this success in the industry with the release of this new album as well as the drop of their new single titled “Settle Down,” which is slated to go public on July 16th.
The group is expected to make their live performance debut of the song on July 22nd at the Teen Choice Awards, their first show since the conclusion of their 2009 tour with Paramore. To top off the latest updates on the group, they are in the process of filming the music video for “Down” with friend and collaborator Sophie Muller. The upcoming weeks have a lot in store for the Anaheim quartet as well as the fans and you better believe The Pier will continue to keep you updated every step of the way!
