On February 18, 2003, Easy Star All Stars released Dub Side of the Moon. Sending the band as well as the record label, Easy Star Records, to the forefront of the reggae community and mounting Dub Side of the Moon as a timeless reinvention of one of the greatest albums of all time, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.
Not only was the album received well from fans, it was able to surpass over 250,000 unit sales worldwide, making it one of the best selling albums of all time. Ten years later, Easy Star All Stars has continued to create other tribute albums such as Radiodread (2006), Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band (2009), the 2nd remix with Dubber Side of the Moon (2010) & Thrillah (2012). They have also dished out original releases Until That Day EP (2008) and First Light (2011).

As a result of the success ESAS have received, the fellas form New York will embark on tour in November performing Dub Side of the Moon in its entirety at each show.
The tour will include special guests New Kingston as well as Toronto’s own Dubmatix, who will be performing live mixing during the show. Fans that are able to get tickets to these four shows will also get to experience brand new visuals that will accompany the music. Tour dates included so far are New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C.
As far as a reissue of the classic album, I’ve been told “it’s in the works for 2014,” but lets just keep our fingers crossed.
