Rome’s New Video for Single, “Terrorista”

On December 16, 2013, Rome Ramirez debuted his newest video for the single “Terrorista” off his forthcoming full-length record, which is currently untitled. The album is set to be released in the Spring of 2014 off of the label Fueled By Ramen.

The video was directed by Paul Coy Allen. Rome explains “I’ve spent my whole life so far 1151024_10151769217413118_1108781388_nmaking every decision for myself, and I wouldn’t go back on any of them. With the video, I really wanted to portray that message in a totally left-field manner, so I called my good friend Paul Coy Allen, who has directed videos of mine in the past. I told him I wanted the video to different and to use bright colors and make it frantic, sow we came up with the idea of a family turning on each other diabolically. The symbolism is incredible.”

As far as the video goes, I would have to agree. It is diabolical, entertaining, and it’s kind of a fun look at a suburban family getting turned upside down. “Terrorista” takes us away from the Sublime With Rome sound, away from his solo stuff from the summer, and exposes him as something new again, influenced heavily by some punk rock with some pop elements.

Rome says this about the song: “It’s truly about being yourself, and standing for what you believe in, because there is always going to be someone wanting to take that away from you.”

The song is catchy and fast paced, and above all, it shows just another side of this extremely dynamic artist. I can’t wait to see what’s next, but for now you can follow Rome and check out his newest video “Terrorista”, below!
