Released January 27, 2015, New Kingston is currently on tour supporting their third studio album, Easy Star Records’ Kingston City, their first release to claim the #1 spot on the Billboard Reggae chart. With their first record signed to Easy Star Records, New Kingston’s Kingston City has impressively debuted atop the Billboard Reggae chart. Discussing the success of the trio’s third album and the growth of this band, Easy Star CEO Eric Smith has said “‘Kingston City’ solidifies New Kingston’s place with the reggae elite. Their hard work, prolific touring, and positive community continue to give the band momentum in 2015..it’s thrilling to see a fast rising New York band who embodies the perfect balance of old and new reggae sensibilities.”
Featuring 12 soulful and well produced songs Kingston City was mostly recorded at New Kingston’s home Kingston Studio as well as some instrumentation done at Imperial Sounds, E.N Young’s recording studio. New Kingston produced most of the tracks on the album, but had one song produced by Sydney Mills of Steel Pulse a long with 2 tracks produced by Dub INC from France. The album was mixed by Ziggy Marley’s Grammy Award Winning engineer, Fabian Cooke.
The record also features a variety of collaborations with Tribal Seeds, Kimie Miner, France’s Dub Inc., Sister Carol, The Wailing Souls, and the late, great father of dancehall, Sugar Minott.

The band is currently on a massive tour in support of this new release, showcasing songs from Kingston City as well as fan favorites from their back catalog. Their tour schedule includes select dates playing along with several other bands.
Just finishing up a run with Through The Roots playing down through Florida, the band ends this first run of 2015 on the island of Jamaica. In March, New Kingston will head to Morgantown, WV starting a run with Common Kings that takes these groups across the US. Closing out March and into April, New Kingston will work their way back east playing a run of dates with Arise Roots.
