“This Town” Background:
The Skints deliver a refreshing new sound and swagger to this growing reggae movement with FM. As Tommy Dubs states in his Album Review, “The Skints are equal part The Specials, The Dead 60’s and Prince Fatty – With a slathering of Roots Manuva and Lily Allen tossed in.”

The leading single for FM is “This Town” that features Tippa Irie and Horseman. Heres what The Skints guitarist/vocalist, Joshua Waters Rudge had to say about the track: “‘This Town’ is a song we wrote in the studio at Prince Fatty’s about our hometown. It was an honour and a privilege to work with two of the greatest reggae artists to ever come from London, Tippa Irie and Horseman, on this one. Their energy and musicality is inspiring and I think the fun we had making the tune is definitely what drove the whole thing. Showing love to home and sound system summer’s day flavour was the way we wanted to set the album off.”

Here’s what The Pier’s Tommy Dubs states in his Review, regarding “This Town”: “This track is full of digital percussion, dub treatments and a great hook giving love to their London hometown. You can’t help but draw the comparison of the track ‘Come To You’ to another British songstress, Hollie Cook. This short track is beautifully sung over a nice rock steady rhythm.” You can read Tommy’s entire review of FM by clicking HERE!

Titled as a tribute to the radio culture that The Skints love as music fans, they named their new album FM and it follows the 2014 Short Change EP that they dropped via their own Penny Drop Recordings. The Skints first album, Live,Breathe,Build,Believe was released back in 2010, followed by their sophomore release, Part and Parcel in 2013 and was produced by close friend and renowned producer Prince Fatty. Prince Fatty returns with production alongside some guest appearances that include reggae legends Tippa Irie and Horseman, in addition to grime MC Rival.
