Jon Wayne & The Pain Ready to Release New Album

Midwest “RootsTronic” quartet Jon Wayne & The Pain recently announced details of their upcoming album, Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe. The new album is set to physically drop on January 21st, 2017, and JWP is celebrating the release of their 4th album with an album release party the same day at the historic Minneapolis music venue First Avenue.

Based out of Minneapolis, JWP are known for their signature blend of reggae, dub, and electronic music, as well as for putting on unparalleled live shows. The band is led by Jon Wayne (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Chuck Torgerson JWP Band Photo (Bass/Synth/Dub Effects), Teeto Miller (Drums/Vocals), Weston Schick (Sax/Flute/Keys/E.W.I./Vocals).

During their decade together making music, Jon Wayne & The Pain have built up a devout group of followers, particularly in the Midwest. JWP have made their mark at performing at major festivals, including Cali-Roots, Electric Forest, Wakarusa, and Summer Camp.

Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe, which will be available digitally on January 27th, 2017, promises to build upon JWP’s well-received 2013 album, Surrender, delving even deeper into the soundscape of reggae-dubtronica.

“This album is definitely a highly emerged sound for JWP. It’s reflective of our past reggae-centric music, yet incorporates a high fusion of electronic and acoustic elements. I feel we’re much more conscious about our lyrical expression, as we hope to be messengers of goodness with social commentaries that elevate the state of our environment and society. It’s hands down our best and most developed album yet,” says lead vocalist Jon Wayne.

To support the new album, Jon Wayne & The Pain are taking off on an impressive 34-date, 18-state tour beginning January 20th, 2017. On the 21st of January, JWP are hosting their album release party in Minneapolis, MN. Joining them will be Jason Hann of legendary jam band The String Cheese Incident, Oakland hip hop duo Zion I (featured on a new song titled “Helpful” off the album), and the local Minneapolis hip hop group Crunchy Kids.

Tickets for the album release party are $15, or $10 with a Red Hot Chili Peppers ticket stub (RHCP is playing the same night in Minneapolis). Check out the rest of JWP’s tour stops, and be on the lookout for the band’s upcoming music video for the track “Thankful” off of the new album.
