Kash’d Out’s New Single “On and Off”

Kash’d Out was one of my personal favorites of 2017 with their record The Hookup. The album was released via Law Records back on May 26th and to kick off 2018, the band has informed The Pier they have a brand new song with “On and Off.”

The new single will be made available on all streaming formats, including iTunes for purchase, on January 12th, 2018. This is the first single the group has released since their album, The Hookup, last May.

“On & Off” was recorded at Pepper’s Kona Inn Recording studio in Redondo Beach, CA with Jeff Bates, and mixed by Mike Stebe, whom Kash’d Out’s front-man Greg Shields produced Ballyhoo!‘s Daydreams with.

When discussing the song, Greg tells The Pier: “Since ‘The Hookup’ we’ve added Nick Guzan on keys, and he will have a big hand in the writing of the new material. So anything pertaining to Organs, synths, and pianos will have a little extra hype”

As for the song itself, outside of its development with the addition of Nick, Greg shares that the song: “is about the back and forth of being involved with someone when you aren’t sure of their intentions. One day everything is all good and the next it’s upside down. We wanted to write a song that is reminiscent of ‘The Hookup’ but with a new energy.”

To start the New Year and in support of their new single, Kash’d Out will be supporting New Hampshire’s Roots of Creation on their Grateful Dub Tour starting February 8th. On March 18th, Kash’d Out will be performing at Reggae Rise Up festival in Florida.
