The Grand Canyon State’s premiere Punk/Rock/Reggae outfit, Authority Zero, is currently in the studio preparing for their eighth full-length album, as well as an upcoming winter tour with special guests of both the punk and reggae genres!
At the beginning of October, the tireless musicians making the quartet of Authority Zero took to the studio to hone their sound in anticipation of their upcoming studio release. With Authority Zero’s most recent release being comprised of live recordings, and acoustic renditions, of some of their past hits like, “Big Bad World”. “Break the Mold”, “Get It Right” and many more, new material is now on the way!
Authority Zero is in Orange County at Maple Studios recording the new album with esteemed producer and engineer, Cameron Webb (Godsmack, LimpBizkit, Pennywise, etc). To keep up-to-date with Authority Zero’s recording process, the band recently opened up, “[It’s] been an extremely productive and fun experience out here to date. Started vocals this week! Been a great experience working with Cameron Webb and the record is really coming together.”
Authority Zero will be recording in California for the next few weeks before hitting the road for their just announced winter tour with fellow Arizona locals, Fayuca and Hermosa Beach, California’s own Allura sharing the stage on the first leg of the tour. Dates for the entire tour are still being added to the 14-dates already announced for the first leg of the tour.
For Authority Zero’s openers, good friends and longtime touring accomplices and “Valley of the Sun” brothers, Fayuca, a band that brings together elements of punk, ska, reggae, and Latin influences, drawing from the band’s heritage. Fayuca’s live performance is one to catch, and recently, High Times bestowed their Doobie Award for “Best New Underground Artist” in 2012. Yet, Fayuca has been performing for the better part of seven years!
Lead singer and guitarist for Fayuca, Gabriel Solorzano told The Pier: “We are stoked to be on the road with our hometown buddies Authority Zero! We’ve traveled with Authority Zero in the past but never for this long.
This tour will be a crazy one full of blurred memories and fun times! As far as performance goes,
I’m pretty sure Authority’s fans will dig Fayuca, especially with the new line up. Rafa is still killing it on the drums and Jared (The new bassist) compliments him very well. Jared is a great musician overall and has an amazing talent for plucking his bass. Expect to hear music from our previous recordings along with some new stuff from our record scheduled to release in the Spring of 2013.”
As for Allura, the band that was long ago once known as “South Bay Nerd Crew” or SBNC, underwent a major overhaul, and now dishes out a much heavier dose of punk and metal than either Authority Zero or Fayuca can deliver. But as openers, the energy level will be present on stage with Allura no matter what. Allura has shared the bill with legendary punk-rockers Pennywise and the 808-state’s Pepper in the past, as well as performing at the Vans Warped Tour Los Angeles and Orange County dates in years past.
Soon enough, fans who choose to take in this traveling concert will be able to witness a three-headed musical monster with new music for the crowds’ ears, an award winning band playing direct support, as well as a band that can electrify a packed Warped Tour crowd, instead fans will be taking in the show in the comfort of their local club. Check the tour dates below for details, and look for more dates to be added soon!
