DENM to Release New Album, Slum Beach Denny, via Ineffable Records

The wait is over as fans will finally hear the unveiling of DENM‘s highly anticipated debut record, Slum Beach Denny. The 16 track album is slated to drop May 14th, 2021 via Ineffable Records.

When we originally interviewed DENM in early March of 2020, the loose plan was for him to release his album that May, but as the saying goes: Good things come to those who wait. DENM did wait, and in the process has since signed with Ineffable Records where they re-released pre-existing songs with “Blow It Up,” “Califas,” “Falling” & “My Wave” through their distribution channels. In doing so, his monthly listeners on Spotify, alone, have shot up to over half-a-million. “My Wave” has already surpassed 1.5 million streams on Spotify.

That’s a tribute to Ineffable’s distribution reach and partnerships they have, including the many curators of influential playlists. But the songs still have to be good, they have to have staying power and they do and this is all very impressive considering DENM has yet to formally tour any of these songs as of this writing.

Ineffable Records Vice President, Adam Gross, tells The Pier: “DENM is special in a way that feels incredibly authentic and not manufactured. He checks all the boxes that we look for: Catchy lyrics, quality production, great vocal performance, strong song structure, a cool authentic vibe, and he can fit into many different genres. While his music may feel like sonic sunshine, DENM’s lyrics very much reflect his experiences growing up as a kid bouncing around California. It digs into his own personal realities, struggles and there’s no question about the influence of Sublime and Bradley Nowell on his sound. The cry that comes through in his vocal intonation is a complete throwback to Bradley. But it’s done in a way that doesn’t feel forced. It just all feels right.”

Adam goes on to explain: “I believe we are living in the post-genre era; so basically his music can have a clear home in this scene but also has the ability to reach well beyond that into the alternative rock world and beyond.”

With DENM’s unique and original style of reggae, hip-hop, rock & pop, there’s no question he has received a boost from his signing with Ineffable, but also his connection with Jared Watson of Dirty Heads. They’ve put their affiliation on proud display as they re-introduced “Califas” to fans on April 16th with a new music video set to drop May 4th.

Jared makes another appearance on Slum Beach Denny as Swordbeach alongside other guest features that include JAG, GDSN, Casey Veggies, The Patten, and Darnell Williams.

“Everything was fully realized: the vision, the mission,” DENM shares. “I wanted to make a soundtrack of life that everyone can experience: falling in love, good times, hard times, a little bit of everything.”
