Don Carlos’ “Time” For New Video

On Monday, July 21st, I was invited, by roots reggae legend & former Black Uhuru vocalist, Don Carlos and his team to document the recording of his upcoming music video, for the song “Time”

Don Carlos has revived his already storied career in music as he’s been busy sharing the microphone with the likes of Rebelution, Tribal Seeds & Slightly Stoopid in addition to his consistent live-show schedule throughout the US.

Now, Don Carlos just wrapped up filming a music video for the longtime fan favorite song, “Time”. DavidNorrisDonCarlosVideoshoot7-21-14 (3)

The video was directed by Tha Razor with FilmJunki.com. The video was filmed at 2 different locations in southern California. The first location was shot during the date in the city of Commerce in central LA while the second location took place on El Matador Road in Malibu. The shoot started around 12:30pm and filming wrapped up at the first location around 5:00pm. From there, they went to Malibu & concluded the days shooting at about 10:00pm.

They filmed Don Carlos parading around $30,000 worth of grandfather-clocks as fog fills up the room to create a eerie & mystic ambiance. Director, Tha Razor, described the theme of the video as “Time” through the mist. It was set up in the back of a warehouse and Tha Razor had Don Carlos walk through the clocks to symbolize the passing through time.

Also on hand for the shooting of the video was Big Mike from BET (Black Entertainment Television), Aaron Hirsch of Stay Up Movement, Phil Simpkin of southern California’s The Simpkin Project, Piracy Mel, & Essel Liufau (sister of Matthew Liufau from Seedless).

There’s no set release date for the video but as soon as we have more information, we’ll let you know! In the meantime, be on the look out for Don Carlos new line of Men & Women t-shirts. He’s selling them at this shows as well as signed posters, using pictures courtesy of yours truly! Stay tuned…
