Leading up to the release of a full-length album, Ease Up has just put out another new single for the fans to enjoy. The idea behind “Liquor Store” came from a recurring dream that lead singer, Rico Estrada, kept having.
This track closely follows the March release of their last single, “Number One.” Both of these songs will lead up to and be featured on Ease Up’s first full-length album. Lewis Richards, out of 17th Street Recording Studio, has been chosen to produce and record the band’s singles, as well as their album.

Between recording and playing shows up and down the West coast, the band has been working hard on the new album and is aiming to have it completed by late Summer. Rico adds, “We have a lot of special guests featured on the album, and I’m very grateful to all the musicians/friends we had the opportunity to work with on the album.”
As many of you may know, just a few weeks ago Ease Up was competing in a battle of the bands contest and won a spot to perform on the Ernie Ball stage at this year’s Vans Warped Tour show in Ventura, CA. This brings us to their latest competition, Marley’s Mellow Mood contest.
Ease Up is currently competing in the Marley’s Mellow Mood contest. They’re participating in a voting race against 25 other artists for a chance to play The Gathering of the Vibes festival with the ultimate goal of earning the chance to record at Tuff Gong Studios with Stephen Marley.
Band manager, Pete Jensen, emphasized how crucial this opportunity is for Ease Up’s growth. “The Marley’s Mellow Mood contest is important for Ease Up because it’s a chance to breakout of the regional scene and take our music to a national and international level. One winner will be selected to fly to Jamaica and record with Stephen Marley at Tuff Gong Studios for 6 days. Out of hundreds of bands who were submitted, we were one of 25 artists who were chosen. So to win this competition would open so many doors for us and it would definitely help get our music out to the masses!”
Voting will continue to take place through July 12th and include other artists such as New Kingston, Jahguar, Pilot Touhill, Bumpin Uglies, Dubskin and more! You can view the Marley’s Mellow Mood content by clicking HERE!
As always Ease Up and their manager are very grateful for their fans and the amazing support that they provide for the band. Please be sure to vote and check back with The Pier for an update on the release of Ease Up’s first full-length album!
