Echo Movement hittin the road…

Alternative-reggae band Echo Movement has recently announced a string of upcoming December shows along the east coast after being a guest courtesy of 311 at 311’s show over the weekend.

The New Jersey natives formed Echo Movement in 2004, getting their name from the “echo generation” that the band is a part of. Their 2009 hit “I Think God Smoke Weed” has been featured on The Pier’s “Exposed 2010 Sampler” as well as several radio stations.

This past September they released their most recent album Music Played On which contains some of their older songs, including my personal favorite “Red Sunday.” Although they may fly under the radar of reggae fans, don’t be so quick to overlook them. iTunes has described their music as a “cohesive blend of roots reggae and pop songwriting smarts,” and Kevin Lyman, founder and CEO of Warped Tour raves, “I totally love the band.”

These guys have been receiving some much deserved recognition, and deserve a second look from reggae fans everywhere. Keep checking for more updates, and look out for Echo Movement at a venue near you.
