Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the iconic movie, Forrest Gump, fans of the movie and lovers of Vinyl, will see it’s 12-time platinum soundtrack released to Vinyl for the first time ever! There will be three LPs, colored Red, White & Blue to house the 32 total tracks…
Of course the records will be Red, White & Blue! For those that have seen the movie, Forrest wouldn’t have it any other way. The soundtrack was remastered for the vinyl release & the first pressings will be hand-numbered & as a result, the first pressings will be limited!
If you’re a fan of Reggae-Rock, I promise you some of your favorite reggae-rock bands were influenced by much of the soundtracks 32 songs. It includes music from the Fifties to the Eighties, spotlighting each of the decades top American hits!
The soundtrack includes music from: Elvis Presley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, The Mamas & The Papas, Three Dog Night, The Doors, Willie Nelson, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Lynrd Skynrd, The Supremes, Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys & more!
“Forrest Gump is about time; a simple man’s journey through complicated times,” director Rober Zemeckis & screenwriter Eric Roth said in a joint statement. “The coming-of-age of a generation and a country. And at the heart of the story is the music, music that lives with us, always there to remind us of the people, the places, and the events of our time.”
All of the music on the vinyl are from American bands and the vinyl was pressed in the United States. “Bob [Zemeckis] felt strongly about it. He felt that Forrest wouldn’t buy anything but American [music],” says Music Producer, Joel Sill, who wanted the film’s music to be “very recognizable” so viewers could follow the familiar sounds to the recognizable time periods depicted in the movie.
