Philadelphia based Hip-Hop/Blues rockers G. Love and Special Sauce has released their new album Love Saves The Day and announced an extensive Winter/Spring tour for 2016.
The already critically acclaimed album produced by Robert Carranza is the band’s tenth full album studio release, and features an eclectic group of collaborators including Lucinda Williams, Citizen Cope, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Ozomatli, DJ Logic, Money Mark, Zach Gill and Adam Topol.
The 12 track album dropped on October 30th via Brushfire Records. The first single off the album is “Muse” featuring Citizen Cope. The album, according to the group, features the down and dirty “trashcan blues” sound of G. Love and his long-term Special Sauce rhythm section – upright bassist James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott and drummer Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens. Engineer and producer Robert Carranza (Jack Johnson, Beastie Boys, Mars Volta) recorded the group live with few edits to capture the raw and unfiltered electricity of the tracks. “The music,” G. Love enthuses, “jumped off the tape.”
The group has returned to their ‘hip-hop blues’ sound first pioneered by the trio in the early 90s. See for yourself as you can pick up the album on Amazon by clicking HERE!
Along with the release of their album, the band announced the initial leg of their 2016 tour, which will cover over twenty cities in a one-month span. The tour kicks off in Phoenix, AZ and will travel through California and much of the Northwest before ending at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Sioux City, IA. The second half of their winter tour, which is expected to cross through Japan, Europe and Australia, will be announced later this year.
