Jurassic 5’s Summer Tour 2015

Fresh from a spring tour of Australia, New Zealand and Japan, powerhouse hip-hop group Jurassic 5 is preparing for a summer tour of Europe and the U.S.

Since disbanding and reuniting at Coachella in 2013, J5 has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, including a series of sold out performances, as well as an immensely popular Record Store Day wood box re-release of their classic album Quality Control.

The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off July 8th in San Diego at Humphrey’s Concerts by the Bay, and continues through Los Angeles, Seattle, Oakland, Las Vegas, Denver and Bellvue before ending at the Belly Up Aspen in Aspen, CO on July 20th.

From there, the group will fly out to Europe and play a show in Belgium in late August before moving on to France, Sweeden, Ireland, the U.K. and more. Formed in 1994, this will be Jurassic 5’s longest tour of the U.S. since celebrating their 20 year anniversary last year during the 2014 Word of Mouth Tour with Dilated Peoples and Beat Junkies.

From “Concrete Schoolyard” to “The Way We Do It,” J5 fans can expect to hear a good mix of the group’s classic hits and more recent releases. Although the band has no immediate plans to record an album or release new material as of yet, its individual members will continue to work on their solo projects, such as vocalist Chali 2na’s newly released EP Bloodshot Fisheye, the third EP in his five EP music box set and art book series entitled Against The Current.

Fans who’ve been longing for new Jurassic 5 music may be disappointed, but by going to one of their shows, they’ll be treated to an unforgettable performance from one of the best hip-hop groups around.
