Katchafire Releases Two New Singles + Music Video

New Zealand’s Katchafire recently released a new video for their end of summer hit “Burn It Down.” The new track dropped on September 9th, 2016 via Dub Rockers. In addition to “Burn It Down,” Katchafire also put out another silky smooth single titled “If I Had The World.”

The new single “Burn It Down” was co-written and produced with Kingston, Jamaica’s Stephen Rev Maxwell. The music video was directed by Shae Sterling and features live footage from Katchafire’s performance at Homegrown katchafire_cvr_new_2Festival in Wellington, NZ.

Katchafire is a 7-piece reggae group out of Hamilton, New Zealand. The band is formed by Grenville Bell (lead guitar), his sons Logan Bell (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) and Jordan Bell (drums/vocals), as well as Leon Davey (percussion/vocals) and Tere Ngarua (bass).

Their unique sound stems from rocksteady rhythms blended with soulful, island vocals. In their early days, Katchafire performed as a Bob Marley tribute band before writing their own material. Today, Katchafire is one of the most distinguished bands from the South Pacific and a mainstay in the reggae world. In 2013 the Kiwi band released Best So Far, a compilation of hits ranging from their first album Revival (2003) up to the last On The Road Again (2010).

Katchafire just wrapped up their summer tour in Europe, and is back in New Zealand to play a handful of shows in their home country. Then they head out to Australia to play in over 20 different cities this fall. The Australian tour kicks of in Adelaide on October 6th.
