On June 18th, the newly reborn Los Angeles trio known as LIFE released their debut EP, R U D W N ?
The three members, who were all formerly part of Tomorrows Bad Seeds, have taken their talents to a new musical realm with the new project and the EP features 5 feel-good tracks showcasing a much different style than what TBS fans are used to. Their refreshed sound combines elements of funk, pop, rock and r&b all mixed into one.

The title track, “R U D W N ?” was the band’s first single as a newly formed group and has received airplay on independent music stations around the country since its release in February. According to lead vocalist, Moi, “R U D W N is a song about being homesick, missing the simple things in life that you don’t get to have when your out on the road like home and family time shared with loves ones. The most important things that we tend to neglect when we are caught up in the madness of Tour Life!”
The bulk of the EP was recorded at the band’s personal studio of 8 years, Suite 16 in Redondo Beach. Additional instruments such as drums, horns, and percussion were all tracked in different areas located throughout the greater Los Angeles area. LIFE’s uplifting harmonies are found throughout each track while drummers Omar Hakim, J.R. Robinson, Josh Freese, and Jose Padillas of Incubus also make an appearance on the debut EP. Production on the songs was done by Michael Choi also known as, Foolish Prophet. The band had met Michael in a catering line throughout their days of playing at the annual Vans Warped Tour with Tomorrows Bad Seeds.
Sean, Moi, and Metz have currently hit the road on LIFE’s West Coast Radio Tour which began with their official EP release show on June 18th hosted by Golden Voice at the world famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA. More recently, LIFE has released a music video for track 3 off the EP, “Kids.” The song relives the band’s early childhood years as it touches on their experiences growing up in Los Angeles in the heart of their youth. Next up for LIFE is the band’s first hometown show to be held on July 10th at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach, CA.
When asked if there was any special meaning behind the name LIFE, Moi responded, “LIVE IN FULL ENLIGHTENMENT. LOVE IS FOR EVERYONE. It’s a common link and bond that the entire human race shares as a whole. Bridging the gaps of languages, social status, racial barriers through music and its infinite ability to heal the mind, body and soul! As music is a language all in itself!”
