Here’s Miles Doughty of Slightly Stoopid jamming to a home crowd. He’s a San Diego local, always showing love & respect to his hometown teams. As seen above, he’s rocking a throwback Tony Gwynn Padres jersey it’s him clearly paying tribute to Tony Gwynn, who recently passed away. Gwynn is a baseball legend who played for the San Diego Padres. Miles paid the same tribute to former San Diego Chargers linebacker & hometown hero, Junior Seau, by wearing his jersey on stage following Seau’s death.
Miles will likely rock this jersey again on Wednesday, July 30th when he throws out the first pitch at the San Diego Padres home game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
If you’re not interested in the sports reference, then allow me to address the bad-ass guitar you see Miles playing. When we asked Miles about the guitar, he told us: “Miguel gave me the guitar. ’97-98 during the ‘Barrel Ride’ recording session and it was my first real, dope electric! Kevin Walsh painted it for me.”. By Miguel, Miles is referring to Sublime member & Skunk Records owner, Miguel Happoldt. As for Kevin Walsh, he’ is also the artist who did the Blazed & Confused art – Google it, he’s really talented!
