    “Liberateducation” Background/Quote:

The first question The Pier had for Authority Zero’s front man Jason Devore, is where the song and album was recorded at. He explained that the album was recorded at Club Red in Tempe, AZ. “It’s the first track off of our latest live acoustic album “Less Rhythm More Booze”. The whole disc is basically a rewrite of a list of our songs off our past two records (12:34 and Stories of Survival).”

Jason Devore went on to tell The Pier that the song “Liberateducation’ is ultimately about going through the trials of life and fighting continuously and painstakingly for what you love and believe in. For me a lot of it had to do with our band and the prosperity of it. About the ups and downs of learning that get you to that clear state. Giving in to change, but never giving up and never giving in. Knowing that in the end no matter what your situation, you know you gave it your all and you can look back with that in confidence. This being with any life situation.”

Authority Zero previously released a live acoustic album in 2006, under a similar name, Rhythm and Booze. The forthcoming album will be released on January 31st, 2012 in partnership with Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge’s Viking Funeral and the Kottonmouth Kings Brad Xavier’s Suburban Noize Records.

Jason DeVore, continued to tell The Pier about their upcoming live album, and you can feel the anticipation:
“It’s been a long time coming for this release. We had so much fun doing the first one we figured why not do a second one and film it this time around,” explains Jason DeVore. “A lot of work and a lot of play went into putting this together. We’re just fired up to finally get it out there and let people experience what we all did that night. This record was all about having fun and doing something for the fans.”Jason Devore, Authority Zero

    Authority Zero Bio/Background:
Mesa, AZ based punk rock royalty Authority Zero has managed to weather the storm of the music industry and endure living on the road away from friends and loved ones. The group has dished out 4 full length studio albums and a live release since 2002. The band’s style is rooted in reggae and skate punk, with Bad Religion, Pennywise, and Sublime cited as influences. The band also draws from Spanish/Portuguese influences.

Mentioned in our 2012 Most Anticipated Albums article, this year is shaping up to be a big year for Authority Zero who plan on 2 separate releases. On January 31st, fans will be able to pick up a double album titled “Less Rhythm, More Booze”. The double album will feature 18 live songs and over an hour of live footage of the group’s onstage performance.

This should hold fans over until their next full length studio album set to be released in June/July. The group worked with producer Ryan Greene in the past, but aside from the new album expected to be 13-14 new songs, everything is up in the air from the studio to the producer.

Here’s what Jason Devore went on to tell The Pier about what fans can expect with the next studio album this year:
“The new release will be our first in two years so expect a lot of intensity regardless of the style coming out, and the good old’ counter balance the ups and downs both musically and lyrically. We’re putting a lot of time and energy into this one and can’t wait to get it out.”Jason Devore, Authority Zero
