Cisco Adler – “Free Tree”
“Free Tree” Background:
Here’s what Cisco Adler had to share regarding the song “Free Tree”:
‘Free Tree’ is a protest song. Don’t charge me for bastardized versions of things that Mother Nature charges me nothing for! And give back to our creator! Nature rules. I wrote the song in about an hour. The music was written with a friend of mine, J. Rand. We vibe well together and wanted to make an authentic-sounding reggae tune. The bass and drums were recorded at the House of Rock, a mansion-turned-studio in Brentwood, CA.”

Cisco Adler Background
Maui, Hawaii, and Malibu, California-bred artist/producer/entrepreneur Cisco Adler first caught the public’s attention as the frontman for rock band Whitestarr, known for its wild live shows and legendary after parties. After Whitestarr disbanded, Adler began a partnership with hip-hop artist Shwayze. Their production/collaboration on Shwayze’s 2008 self-titled debut album hit the Top 10 on Billboard’s Album Charts, while the 2009 follow-up, LET IT BEAT, hit No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart, securing Adler’s position as a hip-hop/pop producer to be reckoned with.
Since then, Adler has worked with a variety of artists, including Mike Posner, Mickey Avalon, Yelawolf, Wiz Khalifa, Unwritten Law, G. Love, Lil Jon, Mod Sun, and others. After years of producing and writing hit songs, and singing his signature hooks for the likes of Shwayze, Mike Posner, Mickey Avalon, Yelawolf, Wiz Khalifa, G. Love, Unwritten Law, and Lil Jon, Cisco Adler dropped his first solo album, ALOHA, in late October 2012 on his Malibu-based indie label, Bananabeat Records.
The album was produced and engineered by Adler and mixed by Shane Stoner. It followed the July digital-only release of his six-song summer EP of the same name. The EP was one of iTunes’ Top 10 Pop Albums. Track highlights include “You’re A Fool,” featuring G. Love (of G. Love & The Special Sauce), “Boom Boom Boom,” featuring reggae legend Don Carlos and G-Eazy, “California in the Winter,” co-produced by Jim Jonsin (Beyoncé, Kanye West, Lil Wayne), “Tha Good Life,” and laid-back pop single “Classic”.
