Jon Wayne & The Pain“It Ain’t So” (ft. Nahko from Medicine For The People)

“It Ain’t So” Background:
Jon Wayne & The Pain released their 3rd studio album, Surrender, independently on September 23rd. The album includes 13 total tracks full of electronic instrumentals, Roots, Reggae, Jam & Ska. Complete with a sanctioned Grateful Dead cover, JWP pays tribute to the Jam scene, while also including a guest appearance by Nahko from Medicine for The People on the track “It Ain’t So”.

Here is what frontman Jon Wayne had to about the song “It Ain’t So” and how it came about to feature Nahko:
“The track ‘It Aint So’ was started several years ago when I had written the chorus to the song. That was at a time in my life when a lot of changes were taking place and I had just gotten clean off of drugs. The song sat dormant for a couple years but then in the fall of 2012 I revisited it and wrote a couple verses. I had met Nahko from Medicine For The People earlier that summer and thought that he could add something great to this. We met up at small studio in Uptown Minneapolis and it came together really smooth. I loved Nahko’s addition and so the did the rest of the band. He sang it with us at a show a couple days later and then laid it down at the studio this last summer. The rest is history. Glad to share this one with you” – Jon Wayne

Jon Wayne & The Pain Background:
Derived out Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jon Wayne and The Pain is one of just a handful of bands from the Midwest to garner a following through out the genre over the past few years. Originally formed in 2005 the trio included front man Jon Wayne, Chuckie Torgerson playing electric bass and Chris Hicks on drums. In 2012 Teeto Miller took over on drums, forming the group’s current line up.

Developing a unique sound throughout the years, Jon Wayne and the Pain have taken a Reggae-Ska Rock background and fused it with Jam and Electronic Dub instrumentation, creating a new unique style of psychedelic Reggae, referred to as “Reggae-Tronic Dub”.

Their live shows are a powerful display of the trio’s sound which have pulled JWP out of the Midwest and onto the road. Together the trio plays an average of 20 shows per month, playing venues and festivals across the US, supporting their three full length records.
