“How I Rock” Background:
The Art Of Balance hopes to build off the success of Mystic’s previous two albums Wake Up The World and Concrete World, which included hits like “Cali Green”, “Concrete World”, and “Riding On The Clouds”.
The album will contain 15 brand new tracks that highlight Mighty Mystic’s quintessential high energy “Hard Roots” style, as well as his slow and mellow acoustic side. The majority of the tracks were produced by Mighty Mystic himself, but his brother, Stephen Thunder, also has a hand in the production of a few songs.
The first song on The Art of Balance is “How I Rock”, a song that Mystic describes as: “Just me and my 1969 Chevy painting the town red blasting this heavy tune.” Mystic continues by telling The Pier: “We wanted to make a song that was fun, easy to listen to but also had a hard edge to it. So with that in mind we just focused on the happier days of being on tour and took the tour life and put those elements into the song and video. You see, for us, being on the road bouncing from city to city, rocking different stages, and interacting with the fans is truly what we love; so when it came time to make this song it was natural and kinda easy.”

Mighty Mystic Background:
Mighty Mystic was born Kevin Mark Holness in the farming community of Goshen, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica to parents Morris & Sonia Holness. He is also the younger brother of former Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness. As a child, Kevin showed early interest in his native island’s music. It was common to hear him singing the latest tunes while imitating the actions of popular reggae artists. In 1989, the family relocated to Boston, MA in search of a new life. Though oceans apart Kevin never lost the passion for his beloved reggae music. In the mid 90s Kevin began tagging alongside his older brother Stephen who had made a name for himself in the local Hip Hop scene. Kevin saw this as an opportunity and began showcasing his reggae vibes at every chance he was given. It was almost instantaneous, but young Kevin had been bitten by the music bug. The name “Mystic” coincidentally was the nickname given to his father as a child and also the area in Boston where Kevin grew up. So it was only fitting that Kevin would become Mystic. By the end of his teenage years young Mystic had already developed a core following and began to take the steps necessary to build for the future. Over the next few years Mystic would have several successful regional releases as well as features on VP Records Riddim Driven compilations that brought added attention to the budding Mystic. In 2005 Mystic and Producer Mike Cip of Split2nd Ent. hit the studio to develop a more authentic and true sound. The duo would return with perhaps the biggest reggae record of 2006 with the song “Riding on the Clouds” which subsequently spawned his first album “Wake up the World” in 2010. He has worked with some of the industry’s biggest and most respected artist like Lutan Fyah and reggae icon Shaggy to name a few. His last album “Concrete World” debuted at number 6 on the Billboard reggae charts and boasted several successful single releases such as “Cali Green”, “Concrete World”, “True Love” and “War (Rumors of War)”.
