Natty New EP & Tour w/Ziggy Marley

American-born, London-raised reggae artist Natty released his brand new EP Change on Sept. 20 and has also begun a tour of the West Coast with reggae legend Ziggy Marley. The new E.P. follows his latest musical efforts 2010’s Things I Have Done and 2008’s Man Like I, which climbed to #21 on the UK charts.

Natty developed musical ambitions early in life and launched his career working as a tea boy in a London Studio. The young Natty eventually worked his way through the ranks to become a sound engineer, working notable acts such as Queen and Nile Rodgers. Natty then started his own band and began gigging around London before finally attracting the attention of Atlantic Records.

His music is, he claims, was highly informed by the listening habits of his parents. His English father primarily enjoyed 1960’s folk rock such as Neil Young and Bob Dylan whereas his mother, a South African, enjoyed American soul, r&b and Jamaican music. Hip-hop music also played a great part in his musical formation.
