A year after releasing their self-titled EP, Florida and Rah Rah Rah Record’s, KayaVibe, is set to release their next studio effort this spring. The buzz is swirling around KayaVibe as they will be supporting a national tour with Aberdeen, Maryland’s Ballyhoo!. Find out all the details and more inside!
On Jan. 22nd KayaVibe will officially release their first single,
“I and I” along with the single’s music video. This initial release will be followed by the weekly release of the other six tracks off their Red EP. The EP will be released in its entirety by March 5, 2013.
Recorded in Orlando’s Sound Lounge Studios with the help of Greg Sheilds and Mike Stebe, the Red EP features Nate Anderson, from Junkie Rush, on sax for three tracks, as well as Tom “T Rex” Moulton from The Supervillains adding lead on “Turn Around” and keys on three songs.
When asked about the forthcoming release KayaVibe bassist, Nick Novak explained “The new EP is going to be our ‘Red’ album. We’re doing a series of colored EP’s until some other crazy thoughts takeover. From the first album to the second we went from a five piece to a three piece so it’s different. It’s definitely a more mature less party style record. There are still those elements but there are also a lot of other emotions on this one.”
In support of the new EP, this February, the Florida reggae rock outfit will tour nationally on the Winter Wonderland Tour. For the 18 date run, KayaVibe will play as direct support for East Coast reggae rock veterans, Ballyhoo!. Expressing their excitement for the upcoming tour Kayavibe commented, “Super stoked to let the world (however small our reach is) hear this EP and give us feedback. We’re dying to get back on the road and we hope this is the vehicle which will open some doors for that.”
