This will be the bands eleventh full-length release and will be supporting the album release with an epic tour accompanied by The Offspring and Bad Religion on the Punk Rock Summer Nationals 2014 Tour!

Frontman, Jim Lindberg, returns as lead vocalist after a short two-year break that saw him form a side-project titled The Black Pacific, but he also took the time to focus on his family life and taking his responsibilities as a father seriously. A short glimpse into Lindberg’s role as a father can be read in Lindberg’s literary debut, Punk Rock Dad. The book inspired the 2011 documentary, The Other F Word, directed by Andrea Nevins and featured other punk rock papas such as Lars Frederickson of Rancid and Fat Mike of NOFX.

Yesterdays will feature songs written by Jason Thirsk, former Pennywise bassist who passed away in 1996. Lindberg says, “Jason was the emotional core of Pennywise and his songwriting was very much about PMA (positive mental attitude) and that’s really what initially drew me to the band and where we started out.” The songs have been recorded with the passion only Pennywise can provide. “We have always wanted to go back and record these songs,” says Lindberg. “It just took us 25 years to get back to it.”

Old school fans will appreciate the raw feel of the new album. “We tracked the whole thing in a few days” explains Lindberg, “so it’s a really raw album in that sense.” The album promises to have a really pure sound and will show fans the new chapter of Pennywise while they continue to stay true to the sound that we all know and appreciate.

The band will play an album release on July 16, 2014 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California and two at the House of Blues in West Hollywood on July 18 and July 20. Their tour with The Offspring and Bad Religion will kick off on July 29 in Pittsburgh and hit every major region of the country before concluding on August 31, 2014 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA.
