For their thirteenth studio album, NOFX is releasing a 13-track album titled First Ditch Effort that will drop October 7th via their own Fat Wreck Chords. The group has released two singles from the new record with a new music video courtesy of Funny Or Die with their new song “Oxy Moronic.”
It’s been well documented that bassist/vocalist Fat Mike recently spent time in a detox facility this past spring recovering from drug and alcohol abuse, an experience to which looks to have inspired a new album that covers substance abuse, politics, along with social & civil issues relevant to today.
Back in April, NOFX began releasing new music from the upcoming album with a limited edition (2,000 Qty), Record Store Day exclusive release of a 7″ Vinyl “Sid and Nancy” sing that was accompanied by the track “Eulogy for Gaia.”
In July, the group released a lyrical video to their new song “Six Years On Dope,” that shows Fat Mike and guitarist Eric Melvin trade vocals, looking into the camera outlining their substance abuse and struggles under Six Years On Dope.
On September 9th, they released a new music video with Funny Or Die for the song “Oxy Moronic,” taking aim at the pharmaceutical companies pushing all of their drugs with their ridiculous side-effects while being housed under factory farms.
