Just a couple weeks after their Spring Tour Update, we’ve got another update on the guys from Savannah, Georgia! Passafire has plans to release a new album!
Currently in the middle of their tour, we were able to get in touch with the band and ask what they have in store for the future. Between shows, they have been focusing on writing new songs for the next album, which is set to be released some time this summer!
Part of the album is being recorded and produced at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, where 6 drums tracks have already been laid down. The other part of recording will be done at lead singer, Ted Bowne’s new home studio back in Savannah, GA.
Bassist, Will Kubley, gave us more insight on the new album and writing process. “We’ve been at it for the last 3 or 4 months, slowly piecing things together here and there… This month and the next we’ve set aside time for all of us to be in the same room, coming up with the ideas together. Nothing really happens until we can play it live together. The performance of the song is equally important to how it’s constructed in the studio. If we’re happy with how it sounds in the living room, it should translate well in the studio.”

As of now, there are no current plans of releasing any singles or having guest appearances on the album. However, keyboardist, Mike DeGuzman mentioned that they have been playing a couple new songs titled “Right Thing” and “Earthquake” at their live shows.
According to Will, “Releasing a single hasn’t really been thought out. Our best song may not be written yet! I’m most excited about a track tentatively titled ‘GO!’ that’s pure four-on-the-floor-dirt-nasty-disco that I think fans might enjoy…Who knows.”
Make sure to check back with The Pier as you know we will have more updates from this hard working band, as well as many of your other favorites!
