Pepper’s New Album Delayed

Originally set for a July 16th release date, Pepper has announced that their new 12 track self-titled album will now be pushed back. On the upside, the group will be performing on a taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Show for July 10th that includes a mini concert for the fans!

Earlier this week, Pepper announced on their social media sites that their current album will be pushed back. The group is in a transition between labels on the release. Here’s an official statement the group shared on the news: “Our album which was slated to come out July 16th is being pushed back a bit. When might you say? We don’t have that answer at the moment but are working fervently to correct that! Thanks for your patience and understanding, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all soon.”

When I reached out to drummer Yesod Williams, he described the album in his own opinion as their most stylistically balanced to date. “Super balanced as far as reggae, rock, etc… Where as ‘Kona Town’ was more reggae and ‘No Shame” was more rock, this one is nicely in the middle, to me”

The album will feature a guest appearance by Law Records mate & hip hop artist Splinta. The album was produced by Matt Wallace (Maroon 5 & R.E.M.,) & was recorded at Matt’s Studio Delux in Van Nuys, CA. Drums were recorded at Glenwood Place in Burbank, CA.

In other news, Pepper has also announced that they will be taping an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live next Wednesday, July 10th at the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. They will also be performing a mini concert for the fans as well. Fans are able to sign up for FREE by clicking HERE.

Maybe those in attendance will hear new songs from their new self titled album as the Kona boys have been playing new songs ““FKARND”, “Hunny Girl”, “Higher Ground” and “These Hands” while on tour. Yesod told me that of all the new songs, “‘These Hands’ is reigning supreme in my world right now”.

We’ll have more updates on Pepper as soon as they’re made available to us.
