Rebelution has already made a worldwide impression on reggae music. With the release of the new triple album titled Peace Of Mind, the Santa Barbara foursome not only hit #1 on the reggae charts, but are looming on the top of Billboard’s all-genre album charts to start the year.
According to Nielson’s SoundScan building chart Rebelution hit #9 during its debut week, an indication of future week’s success, while Billboard has them at number 13 in their first week. The Top 200 is not anything new to Rebelution though. Their previous album Bright Side Of Life debuted and maxed out at #54 in August of 2009.
Rebelution is surrounded by many commercial names that are atop popular radio’s top 40 playlist. Rebelution is also one of the five debut album to chart amongst the top 20 in their first week, just trailing Yo Gotti’s newest album and passing by music from Kelly Clarkson, Skrillex, and Adele.
Here is a list of Billboard’s top 15 albums to this date:
1.) Adele – 21
2.) David Crowder Band – Give Us Rest Or (A Requiem Mass In C [The Happiest of All Keys])
3.)The Black Keys – El Camino
4.) Drake – Take Care
5.) Snow Patrol – Fallen Empires
6.) Young Jeezy – TM: 103: Hustlerz Ambition
