In celebration of the August 14th release of Top Of The World, Slightly Stoopid will be making a return trip to the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage for a late night national television performance this evening.
Slightly Stoopid will be performing live on the September 12th episode of the Jimmy Kimmel show, and alongside the Ocean Beach, CA based band, fellow show guests include former teen pop music icon Britney Spears, as well as former judge and controversial critic on American Idol and currently judging on The X-Factor, Simon Cowell. For your viewing pleasure, check local listings on ABC affiliates and on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
After performing their radio firecracker, “2AM” in 2010 and the 2005 release of Closer To The Sun’s title track on their last Kimmel appearance, the two tentative songs for tonight’s performance are the latest album’s title track, “Top Of The World” and “Don’t Stop”. Although, Slightly Stoopid is known for last minute changes for the better, The Pier received word that those two songs will also have accompanying music videos made in the very near future.
This national television appearance also fits right into their touring schedule and down time with their respective families after finishing up the 2012 Unity Tour with 311, SOJA and The Aggrolites. Following the performance tonight, Slightly Stoopid will embark on a fall headlining tour of the southeast as sole headliners with special guests to be announced leading up to the tour kickoff show in Oxford, Mississippi on October 4th.
Along with their upcoming TV spot and headlining tour, in promotion with their seventh studio album, Slightly Stoopid is also holding an Instagram Top Of The World contest with three winners receiving customized, limited-edition Slightly Stoopid Top Of The World Sector 9 skate decks. Award winners will be chosen based on “creativity, uniqueness, and Stoopidity,” according to the band’s website. To enter the contest, be sure to add #SlightlyStoopid and #TopOfTheWorld to your photo, and for more details visit Stoopid’s Instagram.
