Slightly Stoopid’s “One Bright Day” Video Art Raises Over $20k

Ocean Beach, CA reggae-rock mainstays Slightly Stoopid brought several stills to life in their music video for “One Bright Day” from 2015’s Meanwhile…Back At The Lab. The original art from the music video has been auctioned with proceeds supporting The Global BrightLight Foundation, raising more than $20-thousand.

The artwork from the video immediately caught the attention of Hard Rock International and it was confirmed they will now be featuring various stills at their international venues. The Global BrightLight Foundation stated to be the recipient of all proceeds, a non-profit organization which focuses their efforts behind providing affordable solar energy solutions to rural and impoverished communities, globally.

The paintings were created by Hawaiian artist Danielle Zirk. From the music video for “One Bright Day,” six original signed and numbered hand-painted canvasses were auctioned for Slightly Stoopid fans to acquire. CEO Ben Bunker of Global BrightLight Foundation was able to provide some additional context to share the importance of Slightly Stoopid’s efforts: “We are so thankful to Slightly Stoopid, Danielle Zirk, and the donors who participated in the ‘One Bright Day’ Fundraiser. Together we will bring clean, sustainable solar energy to at least two rural communities without electricity in Guatemala through our Light a Village program. We look forward to sharing the impact of these projects in the coming months.”

Since 2011, The Global BrightLight Foundation has deployed over 74,000 solar lanterns, positively affecting an estimated 358,000 lives. Check out the video for yourself below and grab your copy of Meanwhile Back At The Lab… on iTunes today by clicking HERE!
