Space Kamp is a PA based psychedelic reggae-hip hop duo who just dropped a new single, “Air,” along with a music video directed and produced by Jack Nine Films. For new listeners, “Air” is the first impression to Space Kamp, but to Space Kamp & their longtime fans, the song is a bit of a departure from the sound they’re known for.
“‘Air’ is definitely a bit different sonically from a lot of our past work,” the band reveals. “We think this track reflects that. We will never be scared to try different things. Art should be free.”

Space Kamp is based out of Allentown, PA and Clearwater, FL splitting time between both. What started out as a trio, has trimmed down to a duo that has 2 albums to their discography. Their debut came Sept 15th, 2017 with Terpene Station, followed by Electric Lemonade from June 26th, 2020. Since then, Space Kamp has released 2 singles: The Dec. 2020 release of “Sunrays No Shade” and the April 2021 drop of “Waiting for Summer.”
Almost a year since their last single, Space Kamp is gearing up for a new album and “Air” is the first step toward the groups 3rd full length record titled, Butterfly Effect (BE). “We believe that anything you put your heart and mind to, you can manifest into reality if your passionate, dedicated and work hard for it. This song reflects that feeling. When your all the way dialed in.. Feels like you’re walking on Air.”
Space Kamp worked virtually with B.C. based, Juno award winning producer Rob the Viking on “Air.” Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, Space Kamp was unable to travel to Canada to lay down the song with their friend and long-time producer. Vocals were recorded at Marsten House in Philadelphia with engineer Ethan Mintz and sent to Rob the Viking who mixed and mastered the song at The Chamber studios. Space Kamp comments: “Once again Rob the Viking brought our vision to life. He is a special human..IF he is human. Rob is the mad scientist behind 90% of our production.”
With two albums and countless live shows under their belt, Space Kamp concludes: “We just want to continue to break rules and spread love. Keep it groovy and give everyone that rebel hippie music!”
Space Kamp are noted advocates of Prison reform and federal legalization of cannabis, psilocybin, and home grow. As such, a percent of every BE album presale sold will go to the non-profit Freedom Grow Forever who help inmates incarcerated for cannabis receive commissary. Additionally, they host an annual Toy and Coat Drive and fundraiser for the Leigh Valley Children’s Hospital.
