Stick Figure’s ‘Smokin Love’ with Collie Buddz

Stick Figure has recently announced plans to drop a new single titled, “Smokin Love.” Available worldwide on Tuesday, June 3rd, the track features Bermuda’s Collie Buddz and marks Stick Figure’s most recent studio release since their highly anticipated Burial Ground album, released in 2012.

Just like all his other recordings, “Smokin Love” was self-produced in a home studio by Mr. Stick Figure himself, Scott Woodruff. Fresh off the nationwide Winter Blackout Tour with fellow California-based bands, The Expendables and Seedless, Scott immediately posted a video clip to his social media networks, giving fans a preview of new sounds to come. The post itself received a tremendous amount of feedback, easily pointing out that Stick Figure fans are eager to hear some new music.

“Smokin Love” starts out with a piano riff just before the other instruments kick in and the dub sounds begin to take full effect. The lyrics are catchy as both Scott and Collie Buddz deliver their classic sound in each of their verses. For those who have yet to see this song be performed live, no need to worry as this track has all the ingredients to be a part of Stick Figure’s set list for many shows to come! The Pier was in attendance as the band performed this song during their 2-night run with The Green and Hirie at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. Read all about the show HERE!

The new single will be released less than two weeks after the band takes the stage at the 5th annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival on Friday, May 23rd. On Saturday May 24th, Stick Figure will also be doing a Artist Meet N Greet at The Pier booth.

Following the single’s release, Stick Figure will hit the road as support on Rebelution’s Count Me In Tour with Iration and The Green. The band also just announced that they will be performing at this year’s 2nd annual California Roots, The Carolina Sessions, to be held on September 13th and 14th at Battleship Park in Wilmington, North Carolina.

With the release of “Smokin Love” it’s safe to say that the man behind Stick Figure music has been in the lab experimenting with some new sounds. Don’t forget to pick up the new single when it becomes available on June 3rd and make sure to check back with The Pier as we continue to keep you informed with all updates in today’s modern reggae scene!
