Handsome Boy Records and Fontana North are delighted to announce the release of Street Pharmacy’s newest EP, Pharmanomics! The EP was released via iTunes on Tuesday, June 24th.
Pharmanomics is a special combination of genre-bending sounds in the form of reggae, pop, rock, folk and hip hop & features an all-star line up of guest collaborations and producers. This is the first installment to a 2 part release. The second installment will be released on October 16, 2014.
Street Pharmacy is a reggae-rock band hailing from Welland, Ontario. Since its inception in 2006, Street Pharmacy has released six full-length albums and toured Canada relentlessly, spreading their unique hybrid of reggae, hip-hop and an alternative rock edge. In 2009, Street Pharmacy was featured on the popular MuchMusic show disBAND and were successful in becoming co-winners of the series. In 2010, the single “Stone Bricks & Mortar” reached the number 1 spot on Much Music’s UR11 and held it for 8 consecutive rounds. In 2011, Street Pharmacy teamed up with multi-platinum Canadian pop act Walk Off The Earth to create a collaboration song/video that has received more than 3 million views on YouTube to date.
On the five-song EP, songwriter and vocalist Ryan Guay teams up with some of Canada’s most talented producers, including Adam Tune (Keys N Krates), Ian Blackwood (The Artist Life, Jersey), James Robertson (Skye Sweetnam, Down With Webster), Will Marr and John Doherty (illScarlett, Trouble & Daughter).
