Sublime Reunite with Bradley Nowell’s Son Jakob For Coachella

CoachellaCoachella announced this year’s lineup that included a Sublime reunion with Bradley’s son Jakob Nowell taking over lead vocals/guitar. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival goes down Friday, April 12th, through Sunday, Apr 21st, 2024 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Previously Sublime had recently reunited for the Positive Mental Attitude benefit concert in Los Angeles for Bad Brains‘ iconic frontman, Paul “HR” Hudson. There, Eric Wilson, Bud Gaugh, and Jakob Nowell hit the stage with longtime friends Trey Pangborn of The Falling Idols and DJ Product (Doug Boyce) of (Hed) P.E.

Jakob Nowell who is 28 (the same age as his dad Bradley when he passed away) ripped around the stage sounding so much like his father that you almost had to clear your eyes to make sure you were watching the younger Nowell. His stage presence, excitement, and talent left fans optimistic about the future of Sublime. The benefit show seems to be the catalyst to bring Sublime back together, as Jakob honors the legacy of his father while keeping it alive for the next generation.

This year’s Coachella will also feature headliners Lana Del Rey, Tyler the Creator, and Doja Cat. There will also be a reunion of No Doubt, who have not shared the stage since 2015.
